FCHLI (1) offers the Fairfax County community useful, credible and timely health information and (2) offers community health service providers an opportunity to share such information.

About health literacy

Health Literacy is the degree to which a person can "obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions." Health literacy also refers to the efforts made by health systems and professions to make health information services easy to understand, and useful. (Source: Health People 2010).
